Jean-Marc Quarin (France) (91/100):
"Dark, intense color, with black reflections. More aromatic nose than ever, pure, with a lovely background of black fruits.
Delicately fleshy on the attack, fragrant in the mid-palate, with bright flavor, a velvety texture, the wine melts on the finish. It leaves a deep mouthfeel, with delicately creamy nuances, without any tannic harshness. A sweetness full of nobility. It's superb."

"Black cherry red color. The palate is full, smooth with notes of red fruits, blackcurrant, and blackberry. The very fine tannins provide a beautiful length on the finish."
Jean-Marc Quarin (France) (88/100):
Dark and intense color. Very aromatic nose with fresh and ripe fruit. Smooth on the attack, flavorful in the mid-palate, very fruity, with taste on the finish, the wine concludes with well-coated tannins.
A Bordeaux Supérieur well above the appellation's standards."

"Quite an elegant wine, with ripe plum, red fruit, liquorice, cigar box and slightly leafy flavours on the palate."

Oenologist's Comments
"Deep, black cherry red color, ruby reflections, very good intensity. Deep nose, redcurrant jelly, wild berries. The attack on the palate is creamy, opulent, supported by chalky tannins. The finish extends with notes of red fruits."
International Wine Report - Joe D'Angelo (USA) (92/100):
The 2018 Chateau Brande-Bergere Bordeaux Supérieur 'Cuvee O'Byrne' is a lovely showing. It instantly opens with inviting aromas of black cherries and plums followed by tobacco, dried herbs and spices which all reflect on the palate. This medium-bodied red is velvety and well-structured all the way through the finish where it leaves behined flavors of cherries, spices, licorice and mineral nucances. This is drinking excellent today and should go on to offer a drinking window that spans at least a few more years.
Jean-Marc Quarin (France) (90/100):
"Dark red color, good intensity. Medium intensity nose. Fruity, ripe, pure, lovely. Smooth on the attack, very very flavorful on the development, very fruity, suave, melting and noble, the wine soars to a suave and fragrant finish.
It's very good."
- 2016 Vintage

Oenologist's Comments
"Deep, black cherry red color, ruby reflections. The attack on the palate is opulent, supported by fresh tannins. The finish, a hint of vanilla, continues with notes of light tobacco."
Jean-Marc Quarin (France) (90/100):
"Cuvée O’Byrne is an Outsider whose taste is superior to what the label suggests. It is vinified with the same attention as at Cheval Blanc, which watches over it, and under the aegis of the same consultant as Château Canon. Its proportion of Cabernet Franc distinguishes it in aging. The 2016 is exceptional."
James Suckling (USA) (88-89/100):
"A layer red with chocolate, currant and lemon character. Medium body, a solid core of fruit and a medium finish”
Yves Beck (Switzerland) (88/100):
"Elegant bouquet, notes of raspberries and cherries. Fruity and refreshing on the palate. The tannins reveal themselves slowly and have a fine grain. Good symbiosis with the structure. A wine that still needs to gain intensity and is promising."
- 2014 Vintage
€14.30 per 75cl bottle.
Oenologist's Comments
"The nose is explosive with notes of wild berries (wild strawberry and blackberry). One also perceives aromas of licorice and cedar. The attack is supple and ample, followed by a beautiful length carried by suave tannins and floral notes."
Guides Bettane et Desseauve (15/20):
"One of the best estates in Bordeaux Supérieur."
La Revue des Vins de France (15/20):
"Coup de cœur "This cuvée from old vines stands out in a classic Bordeaux style. The potpourri, stewed black fruit, and almond distinguish the nose."
Guide Hachette (highly successful wine):
"An intense color with vermillion reflections and a fine, fruity, and spicy nose make for a very seductive first approach. A beautiful impression confirmed by a generous, ample, solid, persistent palate with elegant tannins."
