Designated "Outsider" by Jean-Marc Quarin

CHÂTEAU BRANDE BERGÈRE - CUVÉE O’BYRNE

"This is an Outsider whose taste is superior to what the label suggests. It is vinified under the guidance of the same consultant as Château Canon. Its high proportion of Cabernet Franc distinguishes it in aging, while Merlot gives it the expected mouthfeel."

Jean-Marc Quarin

WHAT IS AN OUTSIDER ACCORDING TO JEAN-MARC QUARIN?

A certified taster from the Bordeaux Institute of Oenology and an independent critic, Jean-Marc Quarin has acquired a unique knowledge of the Bordeaux vineyards, with the ability to identify the greatest successes and future great wines. Recognized by the international press for the relevance of his judgments, he also cultivates the art of introducing, loving, and understanding wine like no other. In September 2011, Solar published his guide to Bordeaux wines. It won the Nadine de Rothschild Prize. A tribute accompanied by this comment: "On behalf of the jury, I would like to highlight the extreme intelligence of the introduction, fifty pages that will remain in the history of Bordeaux knowledge." In his guide, he created the concept of "Outsider": "an Outsider is a wine whose taste is superior to what the label suggests". This rare label distinguishes wines that stand out in his consistent and repeated tastings for over twenty years: 5500 wines rated and commented on in his Guide, 45,000 on his website: www.quarin.com.

Château Brande-Bergère is one of the 40 wines to which Jean-Marc Quarin has awarded the Outsider label.
