Comments on the vintages:
- Vintage 2020
15,60€ la bouteille de 75cl.
Jean-Marc Quarin (France) (91/100):
"Dark color, intense, with black reflections. Nose more aromatic than ever, pure, with a nice background of black fruits.
Delicately fleshy at the beginning of the mouth, perfumed in the middle, with brightness in the flavor, a velvety unfolding, the wine melts in the finish. It leaves a deep mouth, with delicately creamy nuances, without any tannic angle. A sweetness full of nobility. It's superb."
- Vintage 2019

Tasting notes from the oenologist:
"Black cherry red color. The palate is full, soft with notes of red fruits, blackcurrant and blackberry. The tannins, very fine, bring a nice length to the finish".
Jean-Marc Quarin (France) (88/100):
Dark and intense color. Very aromatic nose with fresh and ripe fruit. Soft at the beginning of the mouth, tasty in the middle, very fruity, with taste in the finish, the wine ends on a well coated tannicity.
A superior Bordeaux well above the norms of the appellation."
Decanter World Wine Award (UK) (90/100) :

"Quite an elegant wine, with ripe plum, red fruit, liquorice, cigar box and slightly leafy flavours on the palate."
- Vintage 2018
16,10€ la bouteille de 75cl.
Tasting notes from the oenologist:
"Deep, black cherry red colour with ruby highlights, very good intensity. Deep nose, redcurrant jelly, forest fruits. The attack in the mouth is creamy, opulent, supported by chalky tannins. The finish is prolonged on notes of red fruits".
International Wine Report - Joe D'Angelo (USA) (92/100):
The 2018 Chateau Brande-Bergere Bordeaux Supérieur 'Cuvee O'Byrne' is a lovely showing. It instantly opens with inviting aromas of black cherries and plums followed by tobacco, dried herbs and spices which all reflect on the palate. This medium-bodied red is velvety and well-structured all the way through the finish where it leaves behined flavors of cherries, spices, licorice and mineral nucances. This is drinking excellent today and should go on to offer a drinking window that spans at least a few more years.
Jean-Marc Quarin (France) (90/100):
"Dark red colour, good intensity. Nose of medium intensity. Fruity, ripe, pure, pretty. Soft on the attack, very very tasty on the development, very fruity, smooth, melting and noble, the wine flies away in the smooth and perfumed finish.
It's very good."
- Vintage 2016
16,10€ la bouteille de 75cl.
Tasting notes from the oenologist:
"Deep, black cherry red colour with ruby highlights. The attack in the mouth is opulent, supported by fresh tannins. The finish, with a hint of vanilla, continues on notes of blond tobacco."
Jean-Marc Quarin (France) (90/100):
"Cuvée O'Byrne is an outsider whose taste is superior to what the label lets appear. He is vinified with the same attention as at Château CHeval Blanc that watches over him and under the aegis of the same consultant as Château Canon. His share of Cabernet franc distinguishes him from aging. The 2016 is exceptional. "
James Suckling (USA) (88-89/100):
"A layer red with chocolate, currant and lemon character. Medium body, a solid core of fruit and a medium finish
Yves Beck (Switzerland) (88/100):
"Elegant Bouquet, notes of raspberries and cherries. Fruity and refreshing palate. The tannins show up slowly and have a fine grain. Good symbiosis with the structure. A wine that still has to gain in intensity and that is promising "
- Vintage 2014
€14.30 the bottle of 75cl.
Tasting notes from the oenologist:
"The nose is explosive with notes of berries (wild strawberry and blackberry). We also perceive aromas of licorice and cedar. The attack is supple, then comes a long finish carried by sweet tannins and floral notes."
Betta and Desseauve Guides (15/20):
"One of the best Chateaux in the Bordeaux Superieur Appellation".
La Revue des Vins de France (15/20):
"This vintage, made from old vines, is a classic Bordeaux style. Potpourri, stewed black fruit and almond distinguish the nose."
Guide Hachette (Wine very successful):
"A deep color with vermilion hints, and a delicate fruity and spicy nose deliver a very seductive approach, confirmed by a generous, ample, and solid mouthfeel, with a lingering impression brought by elegant tanins".
